They sent me a letter mail titled “2024 CERTIFICATE OF STATUS REQUEST FORM” that had jumbled font (BIG RED FLAG!! They deliberately made so people would not read it) statements just above it that say, “This is a solicitation. This is not a bill or official government document and has not been sent by the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.” Right then I knew this’s got to be a scam. And further down, it however asks for $94.50 payment. I then immediately mad sure it’s 100% scam. More red flags:

1. After filing my business formation application the GA SOS office didn’t inform me I should expect such mails.

2. They did NOT include a cover letter, which is the standard when communicating business mails.

3. They didn’t provide a physical address for their business, and instead they put PO Box address. Also, they have NOT provided phone number, fax number, email and website.

4. The content of the mail does NOT articulate any convincing information about they do for me. Their choice of phrase, “Business Entity Standing Certificate Fee”, they put before the $94.50 they were trying scam me is hilarious!
