My daughter is a student at OSU, she posted an ad online,on the Ohio State website, that she would be willing to tutor students for money. She got a text message from Gerald Taylor, who is in the Army. He wanted to hire her to tutor his daughter who is also a student at OSU. He sent her a check for $2300, and told her to deposit it, and send $1700 in a money order back to him. Glenda Pascual, 91-1005 Opaehuna St, Ewa Beach, HI 96706. He continues to text her asking for the money order number, and confirmation that she is sending the money.

Basically a fake personal assistant job. He wanted me to run errands, so here’s the scam. He sends me a 4,900 check damnnear and tells me 600$ of that is my sign on bonus and the rest is to buy office equipment for the job, which is all the equipement basically for an in home office. I knew it was a scam because once I felt it was too good to be true I researched job scams and sure enough every account I read was the same scenario as mine. I could write out the entire email but I’ll just leave screenshots for reference. After I agreed to the job it took about a week until I heard back from the fraudulent employer I emailed him inquiring about the delay and he promptly responded back saying I should receive the check in the mail within a day which I did and immediately I checked the cashiers check security features to see if it was legit and it was but then I called the bank(which was not listed on the check, another red flag) not the number on the check which there wasn’t one because I read some” they informed me that it was fake I called and confronted him and he hung up in my face. Prior to this I did research how to verify and spot fake checks and it really helped a lot. Also on the envelope the check came in was sent from a Annie Baker?? In Georgia?? But when I spoke with Gerald on the phone he sounded like a Nigerian man..so yea, more red flags. I’m not sure if Annie has anything to do with it or if that’s even a real person.

I was emailed by a gentleman named Gerald Taylor offering me a job to be his personal assistant that I would be paid $35 an hour to work 45 hours a day he wanted me to give him my shipping information so we can ship me my cell phone laptop equipment to start his work immediately because he claimed to be in Canada for the next three weeks. He told me he’s an artist and he sells artwork and age and artifacts to private museums and businesses he never gave me a business name cell phone number he never asked to meet me in person for an interview he just told me I have the job he told me that he found my rResume on CareerBuilder.com
