Type of a scam Employment
My name is xxxxx and I am writing to notify you about a Work From Home scam that swindle me out of a month’s income and may have exposed me to illegal/ fraudulent activities. I was solicited by Jenna Finch regarding an employment opportunity with a company called GFX Logistics. According to the website, the company specializes in:Cross trade
• Air Freight
• Sea Freight
• Road Transport
• Warehousing & Logistics
• Intermodal Transport
• Cross Trade
• Customs Clearance
• Supply chain consulting
On October 23, 2015, I accepted the Transporter position. In summary, my job description consisted of a weekly report, receiving and shipping packages. To start, I was placed on a probation period to make sure I could perform the job efficiently. Furthermore, I was told that my first paycheck and all pay after will be rendered on the following month and on the day my first package was shipped out. In other words, I started the job on October 23 and I would receive base pay and commission on November 23, 2015. Jenna went on to explain that cost of ink for my computer and any other supplies needed to carry out my duties would also be reimbursed and included in with my monthly pay.
Once packages were delivered, I had to open the box to ensure the contents were not damaged. Next, I emailed Jenna right away, and she in return would email me back the shipping label. Before the United States Post Office closed, I would transport all packages to the counter to be scanned for tracking purposes.
I became alarmed when I emailed Jenna on November 18th to confirm that my pay would be processed by November 23rd and to inquire if I have met the all requirements to be considered permanently for the Transporter job. Unfortunately, my inquiries about my wages lead to a cease in email communications and package deliveries.
I have to face the reality that I was scammed. I have no idea if the GFX Logistics exists or if it’s a valid company and someone is using the company’s name to give them some sort of legitimacy.
