G&i Ortho Supply Inc. SCAMMERS/FRAUDULENT CLAIMS

Upon reviewing my husband's Medicare Summary Notice Part B for 2023, I noticed a large claim for #600 Urinary Catheters in the amount of $5,970.00charged under his Medicare number. I did not recognize the provider, nor has he ever required this type of medical equipment. The information on the summary showed that it was billed to Medicare from G&i Ortho Supply Inc., 393 Avenue X, Ste 2, Brooklyn, NY 11223-6028 ordered by William D Barker of whom we have no association. I was appalled when I Googled the company and the associaqted phone number (929) 274-7766 which revealed that it was a SCAM operation. I called Medicare to report this believing at first it was just a billing error on their part but was told by the representative that Medicare Fraud is rampant with fake claims for urinary catheters and other home medical equipment charges. The sad part is that these fraudulent claims get paid out to these thieves and most of them go unreported or unnoticed by the customer or Medicare billing personnel and then these fraudsters get away with it, while the legitimate consumer pays increasingly more in taxes and insurance premiums to cover all the fraud. DISGUSTING! That's the government for you, they will pay $3000 for a single screwdriver, but won't take the time to reform the fraud and abuse in their own system.

MEDICARE FRAUD

G&I Ortho Supply scammed my Medicare for $8,749.44. Billed for supplies 6 times that were never ordered, never needed and never received. Intermittent Urinary Catheters.
I see this same company on previous complaints. I can't understand how Medicare can continue to pay if they altready had fraud complaints for this company. Last year I reported 3 additional scams for Covid home tests that Medicare paid.

Shameful Medicare/secondary insurance false charges paid

Upon receiving my Medicare Summary Notice and review of said document there were charges paid to G&i Ortho Supply Inc, address 393 Avenue X (red flag), Ste. 2, Brooklyn, NY 11223-6028, phone #929-274-7766, undoubtedly all fraudulent info. There were two entries of $1,990.00 - total $3,980.00, both for 200 Intermittent Catheter with Medicare approving $1,708 each / total $3,416 and my secondary insurance, BCBS, billed/paying $2,678.14. Sad part is, myself, a 71 year old county retiree will pay for this as insurance goes up every year. I notified Medicare and BCBS of the scam and my impression was yep, we know this is a scam; in fact I had to ask if they were even putting notes on my account reflecting this scam; I;m still not sure that happened. These are false charges and hopefully someone can get this under control so those of us who have worked so hard all our lives do not have to continue to support these thieves.

EOB received from Secondary Ins (after Medicare) approved $3,416 two dates a month apart for med supplies!
On MC website description said for catheters.
#1, our household has not been hospitalized for above equipment & it is absolutely pitiful that our Medicare is so LAME when receiving incoming bills and obviously isn’t smart enough to review how or if we have had any other incoming similar charges. And it was out of state we live.

Total amount billed for Patient 1 $3,980, Med Approved $3,416.00, Code 302, Medicare PAID $2,732.80
Additionally, our secondary pays remaining 20% of MC Claims And Plan Paid $683.20!

With this said, I m paying $200.00 per month to an Orthodontist as our new plan picked up Adult Orthodontics in ‘23, too bad all this fraud happens without employees catch it, sure would be nice to get more covered for much needed correcting of my Adult Teeth! If this didn’t go past eyes that let it go, perhaps we would have better coverage & less out of pocket for the very long career & dedication to Spouse’s Union & Paying into his Insurance & still is at 72!

Medicare Fraud

I received a notice from my Medicare Supplement that there was a $3,980 charge from G&I Ortho Supply Inc., a supplier I had never heard of. I looked at my Medicare Claims and found that Medicare had paid them $2599.74 for Intermittent Urinary Catheters (2 boxes of 200). I don’t have a urinary problem and obviously didn’t have these ordered for me. I reported this to Medicare Fraud (1-800-633-4227) and my Medicare Supplement. I also called G&I Ortho, and although I called during the hours they say they are open, a message said they weren’t open. Also, their voice mail box was full. I hope Medicare will be able to recover the $2599.74.

G&I Ortho Supply Inc scammed Medicare for incontinence supplies I DID NOT receive. Medicare paid $2008.60 and Anthem Blue Cross paid 512.40 for a claim from G&I Ortho Supply. I had no knowledge of the company till I received a notice from Anthem Blue Cross they had paid a claim. I notified Medicare and Blue Cross of the scam.
