I went on a website that’s available in the Apple Store I typed in Facebook Market Place but when I finished downloading it the app turned into an app called “Tradeit” I was on what I thought was still Facebook marketplace and was selling a pair of classes I wanted 65$ for the frames and the buyer who unbeknownst to me was a scammer asked me to set up a business account to sell on the platform. Being that this was my first attempt in this particular platform, I did what they asked me to. Which was to send 100$ via cash app to them to set up the account. When those attempts failed I was then directed to go to a Safeway and purchase an apple gift card in the amount of 100$. I did and was directed to scratch off the back and send it to them (the merchant) who I know now was the same person the buyer and the merchant in a scam. I lost 100$ via the Apple Card. The person had my email and pretended to be cash app representative, the buyer, and the seller. The logos for the real cashapp service are completely different I noticed. I simply wanted my money back. I made a mistake and I am human I know now.
I would like to insure others don’t get scammed it’s hard enough out here trying to make an honest living then you have people that have no morals taking from people trying to stay above water themselves!
