I purchased a $100 Amazon gift card at **** ******* ******** for our daughter for her birthday. I have photos if needed. The card was compromised (aka Scammed) and she was unable to use it. She told me and my husband and we were to contact the number on the activation receipt which I had taped to the back of the card. Kroger set up a case number to investigate and we spent about 60 minutes on the phone with customer service. Tina, made us feel like Kroger company wanted to help us. Case # 71925292 ( I believe this was only given to Suffice us.) We have contacted this email several times without response. I also went directly to the store of purchase and they simple responded with "We have no responsibility with this" My credit union will not help because it is a gift card and Amazon put the responsibility back to the store purchased, I have contacted my local representatives, newspapers, you, Attorney General of Colorado, press, news help agencies... no one wants to take responsibility they all seem to pass the buck or suggest places to contact. I know this is only $100. We have already transferred to our daughter. My husband and I are out the money. Thanks goodness we only lost $100. But I think of families who cannot afford to pay twice (as we did) and with holidays approaching - people are unaware of this scam! and Kroger, being ONE company, they don't care! My main objective here is to STOP this SCAM and warn others!! But based on Principal - Kroger SHOULD reimburse us $100. I felt I purchased an item with a $100 value which turned out to not have any value! They choose to display these cards which has full public access! I had one person on Nextdoor suggest that they arrive to the store scammed. Which would indicate King Soopers is buying BAD Products. I am still trying to verify that information. I do know that King Soopers/Kroger receives kick back bonuses from these companies to "sell the gift cards" SO why don't they stand by them??? Thank you!!
