the target Ecard worked fine. used it on April 7th.
But on April 12th when i went to buy food for my home with the Whole Foods Ecards; the cashier reported to me at the checkout that Ecard was zero balance on it !!! i was shocked ! I asked her to try again? she scanned it, "Im sorry mame, but its zero balance" i asked her to enter the numbers of it with the pin number printed at the top of the page. Still, no balance at all !!! so i asked her to try the other 3 i had in hand. Again, ALL FOUR ECARDS THAT GIFT CARD SPREAD SOLD ME WERE COMPLETLY BLANK ! ZERO BALANCE ! by now i was totally embarrassed, holding up the line with others waiting pateintly to check out. i was now forced to put back the items i wanted for the weeks food; only buy about 5.00 of food for the day with the money i had in my pocket. she said i could go to the service desk and have the manager research the Ecards further, so i did. again and again. all four were blank; she even turned the screen around so i could see myself, they each had no funds on them. I had been complety ripped off from Gift Card Spread !! I paid a total of 92.30 for the four cards. attatched is the invoice from thier site. as direceted, when they sent them to me after i paid them, i downloaded each one, printed them off so when i finally went shopping i could use them.
i was so embarrased and sadly this was all the money i had for the next two weeks for food !!! that was on april 12th, it has now been 3 days, i have no funds for food for two weeks till i am paid my wages. i have gone three days without food. i was able to recieve an apple yesterday from a neighbor. but with a full time job working in this heat in orlando, i am super hungry !
i of course, called Gift Card Spread right away the next morning on april 13th to report the issue. i was weeping on the phone, scared they had scammed me and i would get no where.
the man on the phone, Shawn, said he would look into it right away and email me and leave me a phone msg that day.
i work each day till 3am. so i told him i would not be able to respond till i got home since my work prohibits taking phones to work.
i had no messages on my phone that night. and no emails.
the next morning i was shocked again to recieve an email from them saying;"We have denied your claim and closed the case. we called the merchant and found you used one ecard on April 7th and the whole foods 25.00 for the full amount on april 12th. we suggest you check your records again, as you have already downloaded the ecards from our records. "
i was so angry !!!!!! they didnt even check the records !! i was never inside any whole foods store on april 7th !! that was the target ecard i bought from them. and i had no issues using it. and used it easily ! they also, checked my archived files !!!!!! not my current active new files !!! since i had purchased other Whole foods ecards from them in the past, they also worked fine ! I DEMANDED THEY CHECK THE NEW CARDS (4 CARDS AT 25.00 EACH) that i purchased on april 5th !!! and demaned that they check THIER files !! and who did they call??? how would Whole Foods be able to report that i used a Target Ecard on April 7th????? they wouldnt have that information !!! and NO i didnt use the whole foods card on april 12th because none of them had a balance in the first place when i took them in for redemption !! they sent me Blank USED ecards from the start !!!
i was scared, angry, hungry. and first thing i did was call them. i called yesterday, waited on the hold line for over 30 minutes the first time, then again for 15 minutes the second call. no answer. i sent three more emails with as much information and direction as i could , believing they had been investigated by a new employee there. but i still have no answer. they dont promise anything after thier guarentee of 60 days full refund or replacement for cards that dont work.
scary as it sounds, a freind of mine said that they keep the complaint open for past 60 days to get past the guarentee so they dont have to refund the customer !!!!!
i am so scared..that was alot of money for me working at only 8.50 an hour. i am 63 yrs old, work hard. and watch my money carefully. I want my money back. a total of 92.30 for all four bogus fake ecards they sent me.
please help me. i have attatched the actual ecards , the account page from their site, my credit card statement showing proof of my purchase of the cards for 92.30. (the target one for 47.77 again worked fine, it was a separate purchase i made from them the same day) and a copy of each of the cards i printed out to take to whole foods for use that are completly fake. please, let me know what to do??? i am so scared . thanks so very very much
