We made contact with a Craigslist ad for two Golden Doodle Puppies. They gave us a story that they recently lost their son to cancer and couldn't handle keeping the four dogs and were keeping the parents. It seemed real, we even reversed imaged the puppies pictures and nothing came up, so we were hoping for a legit purchase. They said that for their son, they were giving the dogs away for free and we would only have to pay shipping. They even asked us all types of questions, with what seemed great care. Asking if we were breeders, past dogs, if we planned to sell them or keep them, as well as asking for updates for the puppies. Hoping we could provide monthly updates for the couple to watch these puppies grow. It seemed very genuine and well done. They told us they to just find the puppies a good home so they told us they would send us transfer of ownership papers, all the dogs items, such as crates, toys, outfits. For a minute it seemed too good to be true and legit, the first contact was made by a Savannah Grimes (grimessavannah6 @ gmail.com). And her supposed Husband was the one making the contact. Like I said before it all seemed real, until we got to actually getting the puppies. As this was a family purchase, we gathered and decided we would pay to ship the dogs rather than drive the 10+ hours to get them. With this the 'owner' of these dogs said they would get them ready with a company that would contact us for payment. We gave them personal information such as address and phone number. Within a couple hours we were contacted by an unknown person, with a foreign accent, asking for payment. With a really sketchy email. Full of weird text and all sorts of information. They told us we would receive a tracking number as soon as we provided payment of $450. From a company named Delta Air Global (deltaairglobal.com). They then sent us a text, from the number (915) 221- 6720, asking for a Zelle payment for the address [email protected] but under a name of Gilles N, supposedly once again, under the company Delta Air Global. This is where we finally this noticed this was a scam, once we did some research and found other people who gone through very similar processes we decided to cut contact and block the number. Even in the email we were provided with a registration number and when looking up the number we found the same number being used in a different scam but the email the person was provided also had the same supposed registration number for their shipment of the puppy. At the end of all this, we went back and check the Craigslist Ad for the puppies it was removed/flagged.
