I fell for a typical phishing-fake-job-scam. The company itself, Girikon is legitimate according to Glassdoor https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Girikon-Reviews-E1101163.htm and its reviews and LinkedIn, but the person reaching out to me was not real and posed as the organization. I uploaded a video that pretty much shows what went down. I was required to purchase start-up equipment from the company, such as is the case with assembling products work-from-home job scams. They sent me a check for $4,900 to do so. The check turned out to be falsified with my name and info on it. I called the bank and they said the check is coming from an office that doesn't exist, hence why the check bounced. They tried to get me to wire money which I did but the wire transfer failed. I then Zelle'd a "vendor" in the amount of $1,500. I contacted the vendor via text and told me they had nothing to do with this and seemed to be another victim in the scam as well. The website isn't letting me upload multiple files but I can send that separately. I was required to provide your bank account information (before I started working). I received an employment contract to sign in advance, asking for Personal Identifiable Information such as my bank details. They unfortunately have my Account and Routing numbers. I am opening up a brand new checking account and freezing all of my credit bureaus as a result of this.
