Type of a scam Other
A couple of days later I received a flat rate envelop via 2-day priority mail, delivered by the USPS with return address of ACRP Processing Center, Jenna Rouse, 99 Canal Center PLZ STE 200, Alexandria, VA 22314. The contents of the envelop included a letter with header addressed from GJI Logistics Inc, 626 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90017, footer ending with Cheryl Gates, Research Coordinator, GJI Logistics Inc. I also received a check in the amount of $*, *** for "$*** compensation and funds for evaluation" from Seibert Automotive, 811S. Main St, Englewood, OH 45322, issued by Code Credit Union, Dayton, OH 45402, (phone number) 937-222-8971; routing & acct number 16840-242277769-9080190631, actual signature, Authorized Signature: C. Wilson.
I searched the internet via Secure Search through Mozilla Firefox for GJI Logistics and found no such business; found actual website for Code Credit Union; found actual site for Seibert Automotive but is not accredited with BBB.
I am not sure what this business entails using three separate businesses ?? and a fourth address to mail package from, but I am going to request that this GJI Logistics provide me with Fed Tax I.D. # and phone number. I am going to contact Code Credit Union and inform them of possible scam, and also Seibert Automotive to find out what is going on.
If this is a true scam, it seems as though this entity has committed a federal crime using the United States Postal Service; and committed grand larceny of felony if issuing a check using a fictitious bank account.
