Initially I made a post on a bridal Facebook group inquiring about a make up artist. Zymba contacted stating that she could perform the required tasks to my liking and at a decent price. She informed me she was a traveling make up artist but that she was local to the Detroit area and didn't charge me a large travel fee. She made a contract, I was required to put 50% down to secure her services which totaled $385, I paid this amount in October of 2022. Zymba was supposed to do a make up trial on November 25, 2023 at approximately 9am, she did not, stating that she was out of town. Zymba was supposed to complete a make up trial on February 17, 2024 at approximately 1pm, she did not, stating that she had things to do for her son's birthday the following day. Zymba was supposed to complete a trial on February 22, 2024 and I received no call or text from her that day. Zymba stated she would do a trial on February 25, 2024 she canceled due to an unspecified emergency. Zymba stated she would provide a refund after I complained that she had not proved any services and it has been well over a year, she stated she would provide the refund on March 1, 2024. I received no refund. After conducting more research on Zymba, I was able to find brides from all over the country who have had awful experiences, claiming that Zymba did not provide them any services after putting down a 75% deposit, a lot of those same people claimed that Zymba canceled on them the night before their wedding. Zymba typically asks for people to pay via Zelle, which banks cannot do refunds for, the only way to get any funds back is to receive them from the person they were sent to.
