Shipping insurance

I paid shipping to retailer + price of goods I purchased. They sent me a TRACKING No. Then these people emailed me...
GLOBAL EXPRESS AGENCY
They wanted $222 to ship goods stating it's insurance covering customs etc. They also stated it's FULLY REFUNDABLE when goods delivered and signed for by self. They stated that there delivery agent will give me a receipt on which details for refund will be available for me to claim back straight away ?
So , I asked WHY? why bother charging any monies if all your going do is FULLY REFUND ? As they claim. ? No answer from GESA BUT retailer has sent me Angry mssgs advising to pay or NO REFUND on my goods paid for, Apparently, goods are on hold with GESA. IAM NOT PAYING $222, I paid $50 to retailer for shipping . No mention of ins or shipping agency AT ALL when I was purchasing from retailer !?

I was given a tracking number and told my puppy would be here by 6p 11/8/21. I was then told because inclement weather I needed to rent a $1500 Crate for his climate to be controlled. I was then told to negotiate with the sender the fee because it had to be paid to ship the puppy. I had paid the sender $300 already to send the puppy per her contract. I was told my money’s were non refundable if I didn’t pay the additional rental fee for the crate.

I purchased a tea cup pomeranian in Phenix Arizona and paid through Zelle. It all sounded good until Global Express Logistics Agency contacted me for more money to ship the dog after I paid shipping with the guy I thought I bought the dog from. They wanted more money through zelle or American Express gift cards. It was all a scam.

They told us that we needed to rent a thermal crate for $1,589 for the safety of the puppy, and once we received the puppy we would get a 100% refund. However, after trying to call the phone numbers on the website, which are all out of service, and checking with ScamPulse.com to see if they are a legit business, which they are not listed. We finally called the airport where the puppy would arrive to find out what their procedures are for pet travel and it was confirmed this was a scam. Then we came across other similar comments about this scam on BBB.
