My name is ***, recently my sister *** and I exchanged text with a woman (Vicky Wills) who stated she was in South Carolina reference 2-AKC Registered Siberian Husky puppies that she needed to find a forever home for. When we inquired as to why, she stated "her husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and could no longer take proper care of them." We text back and forth for about a day and then my sister ask her what she wanted for the puppies? She stated nothing dear, just provide the necessary money to have them shipped right to your door. We ask how much that was and she Stated $300 for both, when I heard this I immediately became suspicious, because to buy AKC Registered Siberian Husky one will spend at the low end of $500 up to and sometimes beyond $1000. To shipped a pet at times would cost more that a person buying a plane ticket.
So I became tired of texting back and forth and wanted to talk to her in person, her number only reflected on my texting message not in my recent calls received for which was 234-205-1737. I stated just hang tight and I will give you a call so we can talk in person, she responded with "sorry dear my phone is broke it only excepts text messages, yet another red flag flew up in my face. So we wanted to see how far this person would continue the scam. We then ask for specific directions to obtain these puppies. She respond that we would receive a email with directions for which we did and upon reading we found 3 more red flags:
1st - the phone number listed on email did not work;
2nd puppies were to being shipped from California to JFK (But she had told us they were located in Atlanta Georgia after first stating South Carolina.
3rd - she had stated she had just dropped the puppies off at the Global Home Delivery Agency (11-11-2017) and upon receiving the $300 for both puppies they would be shipped directly to our home, but the email stated that were dropped of on 11-7-2017. When we pointed this mistake out to her all she stated was no worries dear those were just typo's.
I for one did not like the direction that this conversation was taking so I then suggested a alternant plan, I told her I had family down in Atlanta Ga who could meet with her and take possession of the puppies, she responded back with "she could only hand the puppies over to me". What difference does it make if they are free to go to a new home. I then suggested that I would personally meet with her and take possession of the puppies, she responded with "so sorry dear starting new job not available at the moment." All this time she stated it would be great to meet and see the puppies. I tried again with a suggesting a visit for the weekend, and she responded with "sorry dear landlord just stated I had to get rid of the puppies in 2-days." But at the beginning of our conversation she stated she owned her own home and wanted to make sure our home was like hers so that the puppies would not experience stress of any kind.
After we told her that the Western Union was not excepting the person as to send the payment to, she responds with ok dear just go to the bank and transfer the money, but she had stated that it would take to long to process through a bank. I then put at end to the conversation informing her I would no longer participate in your scamming and that I notified Law Enforcement Agency here in North Carolina giving them a full transcript of this call. She stated, why don't you believe me I am a good christian women I would not lie or take advantage of any one, I guess i'll just go get my babies and bring them home. Even after I told her that I was aware she was attempting to scam me, she kept trying to pressure me and pull on my heart string about her babies and how she really did not want to get rid of them.....I quit texting after that and blocked her number on my phone. I have copied and paste the email that I received from the Global Home Delivery for which later I discovered did not exist and that it had been labelled a scam by the ScamPulse.com in one of their posting on Pet Scammers. I have highlight in red the flags that immediately jump out at you to tell you this is not legitimate.
I hope this helps others from being scammed in the future, its like the old saying of "IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN WALK AWAY DO NOT ENGAGE....."
