Type of a scam Government Grant
My bank called me and asked about the deposit and at the time I thought it was good. The bank then contacted my daughter and told her they pulled the deposit and my account was negative at - $9,300. It took my daughters to explain to me that it was a scam and they used my friends to get through to me. I seriously thought I was talking to my friend, it was real, and she was telling me to do whatever the agent wanted. This was then getting out of hand and I felt pressured and confused. I also think my bank is somewhat responsible because they authorized the deposit to go through prior.
On December 27, 2019 I filed a police report.
I am retired and on a fixed income. It now has caused me a lot of problems, I'm stressed, financially hurt, and don't know what to do. They are still texting and emailing me and demanding more gift cards.They have also made a few payments to my credit card that has come out of a different bank account. Luckily we caught this and that bank is working with me. I have now changed bank account numbers, phone number, passwords, email, frozen with credit bureaus etc. There is probably more I can add but I can't think of what to do next.
