Another scam

I had the same experience as others who have replied, but I was scammed out of $1300. I was also directed to a site that looked legitimate . It was late at night when this problem happened, and I could not find anyone to call that late. I am sorry I did not know about or check the ScamPulse site. I could have saved myself a lot of money. I have blocked their number and not let them touch anything on my computer since I read about these other incidents, so now they send me threatening e-mails instead of calling! You would have thought they would have given up by now and gone to look for another victim. It is probably too late to get any money back, but if anyone who reads this has any suggestions, please let me know

2022 1207 I had a call from them today. I was cancelled a check for $200.00 in August 2022. They were going to sue me. They settled for $149.99. I put a money order in the mail today.

Type of a scam: Tech Support

My laptop was frozen with what seemed to be a legitimate notice from Windows to call a specific number (1 386 355 7374) to unlock computer as it had been affected by spyware and a virus. I called the number and was told to download a program which gave the person on other end had access to my computer. I was told 299.99 was required to fix problem and unlock my computer. When I told them I wouldn't make the payment and felt this was a scam, person on phone directed me to what seemed like a legitimate website and gave me their information:

Person on phone demanded that any form of payment be made today to unblock computer. I refused to do so. Person said they would temporarily give me access to my computer back on the premise that I paid in the next few days, which I will not. Going to a professional to fix my computer and having the IP address on my wireless network changed. The only search result for this company came back with very low rating and possible scam alert, which I wish I researched before hand.
