Global Pet Emirates Reports & Reviews (1)

Received a notification from a Facebook group for Labrador Retrievers where Monica Pearson posted she had 12 week old Labrador Retriever puppies to be rehomed. Several people had reached out and it seemed legitimate. Her method of communication was through Messenger. She asked what I was looking for and I told her a yellow female but would be just as happy with a male. She sent me a pictures of three males with names and told me to choose one. After I choose a puppy, she requested $400 to hold the puppy, with the price being $600. She wanted the funds through Zelle, but I was unable to access through my bank and used PayPal under the name [email protected]. Then she kept claiming that the funds did not arrive. I researched and reached out to my credit card company and they showed the funds were paid as a cash advance from my credit card. Monica Pearson said she could not access the funds and that the bank told her the funds were sent incorrectly. I reached out to PayPal and they told me the funds went through and that there was no issue. She wanted another $750 dollars ($600 for puppy and $150 transport fee - with the claim that the original $400 wasn't received), which I paid via Zelle under the name of Aiden Ocampo with email of [email protected].

One red flag was that I asked her 3 times where she was located and she said Portland, OR. Originally, I said I would drive there to pick up the puppy. After I paid the first $400, she told me she was in Klamath Falls, OR (a 16 hour drive ), so I said to transport the puppy.

I gave her my name, address, cell phone, and email address. Next morning, I got a call from an "Omarion Jackson" who claimed to be with Global Pet Emirates, they sent regular emails from [email protected] and phone calls from 567-393-3262. They first asked me to confirm information, then it was a call to pay $800 "refundable" insurance fee, which I paid through Zelle to [email protected]. Every request was followed up with a phone call stressing the urgency that the amount be paid. Then another call stating the "animal control team has discovered that the weather would not be favourable for your puppy to travel" and required a purchase or rental of a crate, which they showed three crate options with rental prices from $1,500 to $2,000 claiming 99% refundable (purchase prices were from $2,000 to $4,000). Again the funds would need to be paid "urgently".

Second red flag was the transport company paperwork showed a "ten-week female" puppy, which differs from the Facebook post and Messenger communications.

I reached out to Monica Pearson via Messenger and requested the name of the transport company and phone number because the 567-393-3262 was showing up as a scam phone number, and they kept requesting more money. She stated it was all normal during delivery and that the transport company would refund upon delivery, and regarding the phone number she said, "I'm sure it's because they are a company and do a lot of communication with people that's why it showed up as scam". Then she kept messaging me if I was there and "they said they're stranded with the puppy".

I finally wised up and told her she was a scammer as was the Global Pet Emirates because I found them on ScamPulse.com's as a scammer. I'm out $1,950 which is a lot of money for me, but glad it wasn't $3,450 or more.
