The person at this number told my wife and later myself that our computer security installed by Microsoft was out of date and not working. He told my wife that this was a free service to restore the security settings which lead me to believe he was connected to Microsoft which after telling me that a one time fee of $299.99 would be collected after he fixed our computer. All of a sudden the free service was almost three hundred dollars. While the call may have been legitimate, the promise of free service was misrepresented from the beginning. The caller had a distinct middle eastern accent but gave his name as David Hunt.
