I entered my passport #, address date of birth etc. When they started asking about bank account info I realized this was not a legit operation. I did NOT supply my social security number.

Website looks official and asks questions that the official site requests.

I Googled Global Entry Application process, looked at several websites including US Customs and Border Patrol. In the process of doing my research, I went to globalentry.gov and somehow was redirected to globalentry.us.com ( did not noticed that at all) since the website looks legitimate and identical to the .gov application webpage, I proceeded with the application, entered all required information which included my full name, address, phone number, passport number, drivers license, social security number, employer information and previous address etc. I paid the $260+ fee and later received an email confirmation from {[email protected]>} stating "U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Global Entry membership application has been processed and you are now invited to visit an enrollment center to complete the enrollment process." There was a .pdf attachment named {Official Trusted Traveler Program Website | Department of Homeland Security}. The attachment was legitimate, it has the US Customs and Border Protection Logo and date and time for my appointment. I showed up for my appointment, during my interview process, the officer asked what I did for a living since my email address was quite odd (lots of characters and numbers) and asked to verify my email address, that is when I discovered the email address they have on my application was not mine, so the officer updated it to my actual email address. He, also asked if I booked though a third party and I said no, he proceed to ask if I went to the globalentry.gov website and I said yes, he then asked how much I paid, I said over $200, he then said it was definitely not through us since it should only cost $100. At the end of the interview, I was told I would receive an email with my acceptance confirmation and I should receive my card within 2 to 4 weeks. I never received the confirmation. The interview was less than a week ago and I'm nervous because, I have now seen news reports of this very website scamming others and now that they have all my personal information. As a precaution, taking necessary steps to alert creditors and continuing on my research to see what else I can do to protect myself.

I googled global entry renewal and the first website to pop up was globalentry.us.com. It looks legitimate and they ask for information such as addresses, employment history, drivers license #, etc, all of the same questions I was asked when I initially applied for global entry. They had enough information to access my global entry account on the CBP/DHS website (which is problematic because the CBP website does not require you to login with a username and password first before using any additional information to verify your identity). They did actually renew my global entry, but for $286 which is more than the CBP charges if you directly apply for renewal with them at a cost of $100. I don't believe my information has been used thus far but they certainly have a lot that they can use.

I wanted to apply for Global Entry. I used the website globalentry.us.com. The site had a lock on its browser. It looked very official and mimicked a government site. I provided all the necessary personal information including my driver's license. I realized I had made a mistake on the application after I submitted the form and made payment. There was no contact number on their website. So, I googled Global Entry customer service (official one) and called them, upon talking to them, I realized that I had applied on the wrong site. The Global entry customer service gave me the email address that they used to apply on my behalf as [email protected]. They continue to communicate with me via the email address: [email protected]. I was charged $260. My credit card company showed that the amount charged was from Brazil: Amount: 1461.20 BRL
