I saw a Maine [censored] kitten on their website. They responded to my email request within minutes by text. They sent me emails to ask about my experience with cats and assured me the kitten was available and healthy. I received a contract (that contains my name, address, cell phone and email) and I signed it and sent it back. I was ready to make the payment of $650.00 ($500 for the kitten and $150 to air ship) by Venmo. I was not able to send the money so I asked if we could talk. A man named Ricardo called me. The website says the breeder's last name is Maxwell. The gentleman had an accent and I told him he did not sound like a Ricardo and he said he is Jamaican. Maxwell does not sound like a Jamaican name.
When I said it sounds like a scam and he assured me this is legit. Now I started thinking the online photo of the cat looked like it could be stock photo. I said before I send the money, I want him to do a video call with him and the kitten. He said yes but it never happened. He again asked to send payment. I told him I was going to pass and never heard from him again.
No money lost but my kitten loving heart is sad.
