On February 1st/24 I was informed by Go-Models that Smith Robert Images was looking for models for an editorial magazine photo shoot and to submit my head shot. I did. Apparently I was one of 20 models chosen. I was given instructions regarding the shoot and how payment would be received. I was to be paid $700 up front and $800 before the commencement of the shoot. Then came the check for $2550. I was to get in touch with the designers and pay them $1850 ( first red flag) out of the $2550 via Venmo for their services. I did the mobile deposit and the bank put a hold on the check till February 13th. This wouldn’t work because the shoot had a timeline. They asked me if I could front the money ( second red flag) for the designers. I said no. They made reference to the other models not having an issue with their checks clearing. I contacted the bank. They said it may clear overnight because I had sufficient funds to cover it. It did clear but after telling the bank about their strange business process they put a restriction on the account. I did not contact the designers or disperse the funds. I received an email from GoModels talking about a model that was hired for the shoot by Robert Smith Images (name is in the wrong order (third red flag )from this project contacting them about suspicious conduct! This email came Feb 5th/24. Everything was off about this!
