I ordered glassware from Godinger and I paid for shipping. The glassware was advertised on their website as being handmade from India. When the glassware arrived, the box was labeled as being made in China and the glasses had seam lines on either side from the mold during machine manufacturing. I followed the return policy and procedure as posted on their website and I sent the information requested via email. I was asked to send pictures which I did. They replied that I received what I had ordered even though the website description was not a match. They emailed that I could return the glassware less at 15% restocking fee. I directed them to their own refund policy on their website because it doesn't make any reference to a restocking fee. ("Suppose you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any other reason. In that case, merchandise can be returned within 30 days of purchase, in original condition and packaging, for a full refund of the item amount, less shipping charges credited back to the original form of purchase within 7-10 business days.") There was no reply to my email so I followed up via email again five days later because the company was scheduled to be closed for religious observances soon. Again, there was no reply so I waited until the company re-opened after their religious observances and I called the customer service rep directly. She said that she would contact the product manager and request a response that day. Again, I received no response so I waited another week and I called and I talked with the customer service rep again. She offered to have me keep the item and give me a full refund and then the phone went dead. She immediately sent me an email and offered me a half refund and to keep the item. I reiterated that she offered a full refund on the phone and she just repeated that she had spoken with the product manager and that was the offer. I replied that I don't want the item because it's not what I ordered and I'll have to order something else. Nevertheless, and despite their posted refund policy on their webside, only half refund was offered. Consumers should be warned of this company's fraudulent dealings. I lost a minor amount of money but some consumers may make large purchases that have fraudulent product descriptions which will not be fully refunded by the company. I feel that the company is also using religion in an attempt to con/lure consumers into a false sense of integrity in their business dealings.
