Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
they post job offers that say they pay $12-$14/hr. you end up in a couple days of "training", unpaid. then the you have to go around house to house, in neighborhoods that they drop you off in, and sell vacuums. within a couple of weeks, you sell a few vacuums, but never receive the commissions you are promised; and also never receive any kind of hourly compensation either. meanwhile, the employees are treated terribly, and constantly belittled.
on the customer side of things. they offer a $1000.00 shopping spree just to listen to their sales pitch. they use that promise to get in the door. during their sales pitch, they use excuses to take pictures of the inside of people's house. they use scare tactics to try and get you to buy an overpriced piece of equipment. if you keep denying any kind of sale, they start personally attacking you verbally; while still on the potential customer's property. then if you haven't agreed to a sale by the time they leave, and you ask for the shopping spree (as promised), you told to basically just leave them alone.
if you do end up agreeing to a purchase, and decide to decline the purchase within 3 days, they give the customer a phone # to call that never gets answered, and doesn't have a messaging line. in the mean time, they start pulling "payments" out of the charge account provided by the customer. they often charge the customer multiple times in less than a month. customers often have to resort to having their accounts changed, unless they just give up completely.
i've seen this company use promises like "a free vacation", "free cruise", "$100.00 walmart gift card", etc. to get into people's houses; but never actually follow through with said promises. they are so adamant about taking pictures, once they are inside, it seems to me that they are casing people's houses without their consent.
i personally watched the owner of this company run these scams from my house while he was renting a room from me. he used to laugh when people were upset with him over these obvious scams.
