Through gooddog.com I was put in contact with Rock N Wool Kennels in Wisconsin. The breeder bait and switched me from a cheaper dog to a more expensive dog and then changed the terms of the agreement lessening the value of the dog (ie. Registration status) without changing the price.

We purchased Luna from "Everlasting Shih tzu" ( the breeder) as a Purebred Shih tzu with CKC registration, and breeding rights as a Purebred Shih tzu. After receiving valid proof via DNA testing through Embark that our puppy Luna is NOT a purebred Shih tzu, but is the offspring of a mixed Dam and Sure compromised of 4 breeds.

We contacted the breeder and offered to take a partial refund (mixed breed pets are not valued at $800) and spay her because we were attached to her as she was to us.

We were told if we wanted to keep her we would not receive any refund. As we could not fathom paying $800 for a mixed breed female puppy that we ourselves would NOT ethically breed, we chose to return her.

Everlasting Shih tzu has received our puppy and we were refunded for purchase price and additional financial loss of registration fees with CKC as well as Embark testing and flea medication for a total of $1119.000 in cash. We have signed the CKC registration (where Luna is now mis registered as a Purebred) to the breeder previously named on registration and the person named on health certificate.

Everlasting Shih tzu has agreed (in message communication) they will now DNA test their kennel to prevent from further misleading any buyers.

It is our hope they will do the ethical thing and inform their previous buyers (as is their responsibility) that they puppies they have sold them may NOT be the purebred puppies they led them to believe they are!

I found the breeder on Gooddog.com selling dachshunds. She was initially very communicative telling me about the puppy and pricing. I placed a deposit on the puppy to hold the dog. The breeder told me she would provide me with updates and pictures on Sundays. At first she would give me excuses and then she ultimately stopped responding to me altogether. I notified the website that their breeder was unresponsive and they looked into the matter and ultimately removed her from their site. The website told me they requested for the breeder to contact me separately which she never did. We have tried calling and texting the phone number listed for her with no response. We noticed she has several business names - Crystal Lakes Farm, Fair Dachs, Forever Enchanting Dachshunds. None of which are registered as an actual business so she likely isn’t paying taxes either.
