searched for GE water filters XWFE and found 4 filters for $94 on goodfiltershop.com - paid via Paypal. Got an email invoice payment to Boutique of Wonders - the filters are made in China - when I tried to use one and then a second filter on the GE fridge, the red error light lit. The manual said to try another filter or try to bleed air out of the filter - nothing worked. Called GE service, the tech identified the filters as fake, he installed an original GE filter and it worked. The lettering on the otherwise legitimate looking product box was lighter than the factory filter box, and the factory filter had a serial number printed on the filter cartridge, whereas the fake had no serial number at all.
