On 5/25/18 I answered an add about a maltese puppy. The process began many e-mails? text/ & calls back and forth. Have e-mails that stated his son had a maltese breeding business and recently died from cancer. Stated he had 2 puppies, a boy and a girl 11 weeks old. They supposedly came from a litter of 8 & he sold all but 2. Also stated that he had 2 pregnant dogs giving birth in approx. a week. Said he couldn't handle all the puppies & because of this was willing to sell me the girl for $250.00, both for $350.00. Went into this aware that it may be a scam, but was really hoping it wasn't. After the money gram, (ACE Cash Express) was sent by my husband, the following afternoon, I figured I'd know soon if it were a scam or not. This I could handle, and stupidity was accepted. But this person played me all afternoon with calls & text of how he picked up the money & was on his way to agency to drop off the puppy. He would pay shipping expense. Thought that was too much to swallow, but thought maybe he had made a deal before to ship all 8 puppies, & couldn't sell last two, so transfer of this female was paid for. To conclude on a long day, information finally popped up on my e-mail that said I needed to rent an air conditioned crate from Pet Relocation for $840.00. ( www.precourierservice.com) Immediately text this person about the situation. He said to forward this e-mail to him so he could understand it better. I did, he called me to say that I would get 98% of total $840.00 back when puppy was delivered. No way was I paying this, & said I didn't have $840.00. I believe he called back shortly after saying we could split the money payment. I said no, I can't. He then said he's going down to the agency and hung up. After 45 min. or so I received a text saying he could not get his puppy back because he had transferred ownership to my husband. If I didn't do something the agency was going to take the puppy to the humane society. "And oh how he loved this puppy!" After he knew I was not paying another cent, communications from him stopped. I on the other hand politely told him that I was aware that I was just scammed, and that a lesson was learned by me. As for him he made $250.00 from me, not more. That I'm pretty sure he has done this before, and will again. told him what comes around goes around, and his isn't far behind. Again I could accept the loss of money, but the expectations he fed me throughout the day about the puppy...well that hurt. I was sent an attachment from his first e-mail with puppy pictures of a boy and a girl. (Molly and Hubert I believe. Do not know how to attach them to this at the moment.
