Goodwill imposter Reports & Reviews (5)

I am writing to address the recent concerns and misconceptions circulating about Goodwill Corporation. As an individual who has recently joined the company and experienced its processes firsthand, I feel compelled to clarify the situation and dispel any misunderstandings.

First and foremost, Goodwill Corporation is not a scam. The initial request for a payment of $200-$300 to cover the equipment and training expenses is a standard practice in order to ensure that new employees can start their work and training promptly. I personally went through this process and can confidently attest that it is a legitimate and essential part of the onboarding procedure.

I understand that some individuals may have reservations or doubts when asked to make an upfront investment. However, it is crucial to recognize that this payment serves as a means to provide employees with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their roles. In my case, I can assure you that I was fully reimbursed for the equipment expenses shortly after I completed the payment. Goodwill Corporation keeps its promise to reimburse employees, and there is no cause for concern in this regard.

Therefore, I kindly request that individuals refrain from spreading false information about Goodwill Corporation being a scam. Such baseless claims not only harm the employment opportunities. It is important to exercise responsible judgment and avoid making unfounded accusations that can negatively impact individuals and businesses alike.

I have come across numerous complaints and accusations regarding the reputation of Goodwill. It is with great conviction that I address these claims and assure you that Goodwill is not a scam, and the allegations made against it are unfounded.

Goodwill is an esteemed organization with a long-standing history of serving communities and making a positive impact on countless lives. Founded in 1902, Goodwill has been dedicated to its mission of providing job training, employment opportunities, and support services to individuals facing barriers to employment. Throughout the years, they have tirelessly worked towards helping people find stability, gain skills, and achieve self-sufficiency.

The notion that Goodwill is a scam is simply untrue. There may be misunderstandings or misinterpretations that have led to the spread of such misinformation. It is essential to approach these allegations with a critical and discerning eye, considering the source of the claims and the evidence supporting them. Often, false rumors and misconceptions can gain traction through the power of social media and word-of-mouth without any substantial basis.

Someone on Facebook posted about a work from home opportunity. After talking back and forth, he told me to download the Signal App where the interview would be conducted by someone else. I spent an hour answering questions, he said i was qualified and then needed my info. Before i sent anything, i said i need to know more about the job and my pay. He sent what seemed to be legitimate information. I then sent a picture for my "profile" and a picture of my drivers license. After a few more back and forth comments, he said i would need to spend $200-$300 on supplies that would then be given back to me, along with "more benefits and bonuses". He asked me to said it friends and family paypal. I said i would not send anything unless it was more secure. He said its secure, ask the recruiter from facebook. I said no job should ask you to pay for anything before starting, ket alon by way of friends and gamily on paypal. Of course, he then stopped responding. I told him i would report. Mikey Mangenello was the facebook "recruiter". And "Adam" was the interviewer. Stay Away!

Similar experience to the listed previously. Made it through the “interview” process. I was “taking too long” to accept the offer letter presented. Then when I asked for a video chat, Mr. Joe simply replied “No” and again said I was taking too long to accept the position. When I told him I would not be accepting the position without confirmation of validity, he told me to “Have a good life.”

A friend on Facebook shared a post from Sewickley Classifieds about a job posting. The job poster on Sewickley Classifieds advertised two remote openings for payroll/data clerk. The posting looked legitimate and the job poster requested private message for interest. I messaged the job poster on Facebook and he responded with job description (Job Duties & Responsibilities - 1. Transcribe, review, and interpret all lease data before entry into the database. 2. Ensure all data is accurately and quickly entered. 3. Review all documents that come in for accuracy (this makes the data entry people's jobs easier). Mike Manganello, the job poster, responded, "Can you handle this efficiently"? He then proceeded to say, "Yes they are a lot of benefits. It’s 28-30/hr. I would like to know if you have Signal Messenger on your phone because I’ll need to forward you to the online Interview Manager via Signal . If you don’t have it, you can install it from your App Store or Google Play Store". I then proceeded to install Signal and said "Great, I need you to contact the online interview manager, on signal via the below number +19853269348 to commence on your interview and your interview verification code listed below ??AH-0201 - Mikey, Mikey Manganello. If you have problem trying to send your code via the signal app. Let me know. I’ll put you through." The next morning I connected on Signal with the information provided by Mikey. A "Mr Joe Grisper" introduced himself as the "Senior Sourcing Partner-Recruiter" at Goodwill Corporation. He then proceeded with an extensive 2 hr interview over chat and requested name, address, phone, email along with photo id and form of id. I provided that information but covered up any specific id information in the picture as a precaution. After extensive discussion about job, rate, equipment that would be provided, he then proceeded to offer me the job and gave me statement about code of conduct, etc. Then advised he would need $100-$200 to get process started over Paypal and then it would be reimbursed. I told him that I did not feel comfortable with that and he provided this statement about how Goodwill is reputable company. I insisted I would not pay and he never responded back to me. I've never been scammed before and the lengths that this scammer went to do this took several hours and were through professional and recognizable means, not to mention local/multiple resources with assistance from a local Facebook resource with a local newspaper listing.
