Google Cloud Imposter - Fake Invoice Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Bronx, NY, USA • Jun 12, 2024

I had received an email notice that I was due to renew my Google Cloud service on my personal email. I entered my debit card information to do so. Within an hour or 2, I had 2 fraudulent charges on my debit card. One charge was for $6.29, which I thought was for my Cloud coverage and another was for $29.38 for a company called “Good Gear.” When I tried to call the telephone for Good Gear, it was a false number. When I called the number for the $6.29 charge which was supposedly for “Travel Wander,” this was when I found out that that it was for Lady-luck-is-smiling.com. I insisted on speaking with a Supervisor. I spoke with a man who claimed his name was Zach Smith. He initially offered me a 50% refund on the charge for $29.38. I insisted on a 100% refund and he refused. When I asked him to process the 50% refund after threatening him with a report to the Better Business Bureau, he said, “it doesn’t work like that” and refused to refund me the 50%. I ended the call.
