Scammer called to ask about something I had for sale and wanted to come today or tomorrow. When I said OK, he insisted that he send me 6 numbers and if I send the same numbers back to him, then he will know that I am not a scammer. I refused, smelling a rat. I told him that he could come see it in person and then we can both be sure that neither of us are scammers or hackers. He asked repeatedly to send the 6 numbers. I told him I was on to him and was going to report him (or her).

Scammer answered an ad on Facebook where I was selling a bike carrier. She, Elizabeth, said she was very interested and wanted to verify if was a legitimate seller to "be safe". She wanted my phone number, I gave it to her. She asked for a code, and sent a code for me to respond with. I did. It twice, I gave her my Google phone number AND my phone number. Then I told her to forget it.

I lost my dog and Ive been getting a number of texts from people saying they have him, won't give me a name and won't send a photo. They always state they want to verify my number which I have learned is always a red flag.

I posted that I lost my dog. Someone texted me saying they found her but they needed a code to prove I was real. I received a Google voice verification code that they wanted. I gave it but it didn't work for them (probably safety measures I have on my phone) and they wanted more numbers. I didn't give them any more and changed my password.
