The scammer posed as the government and stole precious information and money.

- Visalia, CA, USA • Apr 01, 2024

No service accuracy described. Targeted new business with empty code threats and supposed required filing.

- Los Angeles, CA, USA • Apr 01, 2024

Got a letter in the mail, it looks legitmate except for there is nothing on this backside of the page which I found odd. There is a return envelope that requires postage. I checked online and it looks like its a scam targeting small businesses.

They contacted me and the recording sounded just like Social Security Administration on March 22, 2024. I gave out all of my information to them. I was supposed to get a call back but it was 2 hours later when I answered the third phone call. I contacted Social Security Administration and they said it was not them so they helped me to protect my account. They said SSA never does surveys. I called them initially to get itemized report to get my first rebate.

Buyer Beware Story for spring - summer travelers.

Time to renew passports for those summer trips? There are websites that make consumers think they are "renewing online" which is not possible yet with the US DEPT OF STATE.

Website is, at best, intentionally misleading users to think they are paying to “renew their passport online.” The text, colors and design are all intended to trick the consumer to think they are on the US Travel Passport website and gauge consumers into paying an exorbitant fee to generate an online form and mailing label.

1. Online renewal is not possible with the US Department of State.

2. I didn’t see the Disclaimer as it is in such small font and nor did I click on the “I understand” button and I was allowed to continue the process.

• On a smart phone it is particularly small and un-noticeable.

• Not having to click it to process to the forms makes the Disclaimer moot and defeats the purpose of allowing the consumer to make an educated decision on the “service” he/she is agreeing to purchase. This is of course by design. Consumer regulation enforcement is overburdened, and I am sure they disclaimer "checked the box" for some compliance regulation but the company clearly purposely didn't make the button functional. If you click it, it simply moves the page down a slight scroll. It is not, in any way, shape or form, meeting the requirements of a Disclaimer as a consumer protection that banks and other businesses or entities are required to comply.

In addition, when putting in the payment information, the website should have a disclaimer ensuring the consumer agrees that the fee is for the form, instructions, and a mailing label, and that is a third-party service and to renew the passport requires additional fees and mailing the form to the US DEPT OF STATE.

This site also asks to store your credit card information, which is concerning, because this is not a consumer website that you would visit often and use frequently.

The actual company name cannot be found anywhere on the website making it impossible to look it up as an entity on the web. The About us is intentionally written vaguely.

While the email does state you can reply to the email with questions or concerns (which I did), I think if the email goes to SPAM/JUNK that again forces a consumer to figure that out first to have recourse, which I think the elderly and less technically educated would figure out. The website does have a "contact us" page, that forces you to put in a request form. There is no business address or phone number which I think, is again by design. This website is designed to make it difficult for the elderly and less technical savvy to ask questions or complain/request a refund. Most would likely give up, maybe never even knowing that they got the email, because the email goes to SPAM/JUNK because so many spam-services have flagged this site as spam. So, for their $88, they may not even get the form and mailing label.

There is maybe a value for this service, but it's simply a form generator, simplified instructions, and a mailing label, (which you can get for free at any mail services or USPS office), and for that, I think $88.83 is too much. Having said that, I think the issue is that it is misleading the consumer, and even I, a former documentation and UI/UX designer/expert fell for it when in a rush on my phone to get my passport renewed.

I hope this information will help caution people and prevent more people from paying and realizing later, it wasn't submitting their application for renewal.

I did email and received an email offering a "discount" twice, which also is telling to me that they know what they are doing isn't valued at what they are charging. Because I was firm and expressed all that is stated above very firmly was eventually given the 100% refund. I will attach the email.

Failure to pay within a very short time frame would result in $500 PER DAY or up to $10,000 and/or face up to 2 years imprisonment. Permit no. 842. Envelope said "time sensitive mail open immediately. From time of receipt to when payment was due was one week. This was a Form 4022 (Rev. December 2023). Only front page. No second page or back of page. No phone number or website listed on the form.

This has been previously reported after searching the internet but we received a similar piece of mail for our LLC business which contained a form "4022" labeled "Mandatory Beneficial Ownership Reporting" and stated we must file the form with all of our information (name, address, phone) but more importantly said there is a $117 filing fee and if we didn't respond by the deadline (in our case 3/7/2024) there would be fines of $500 / day (uggg...flag in my mind...what?) and/or $10,000 and up to 2 years in prison (REALLY???).

Letter received in the mail indicating the submission of a Beneficial Ownership Information with a $117 submission fee. My state business ID number was located on the letter & the letter verbiage advised of potential fine fees with additional costs if not submitted by March 4th. 2024. The letter was accompanied with a return envelope with a Washington DC return address, but it looked generic & the postage sticker area was just a blank box. With extensive research both on the internet, reference to other friends with small businesses & browsing the FICEN website thst indicates the submittal is free. I am suspecting the received letter is a scam.

Purports to be a "tax lien" and a "judgment". No such thing exists.

- Benton, LA, USA • Feb 28, 2024

Form states it is in pursuant to the United States corporate transparency act enacted by congress. Lists penalties for non-compliance of $500 per day and up to 2 years imprisonment. Asks for check or money order to be made out to US Business Regulations Dept.

Website appears to be a government website for global entry application but is fraudulently charging a $150 fee on top of the global entry fee.

- Brookline, MA, USA • Feb 20, 2024

I searched for passport renewal and found a website that looked legitimate to fill out the forms. I filled out everything and paid a fee. In the end, I realized the fee I paid was not for the application fee. I paid $62 for them to use the info I entered and put it into the correct forms for me to download.

- Providence, RI, USA • Feb 16, 2024

I didn't practice internet safety and carelessly applied for a passport. I used this website but failed to realize it was fraud.

- Arlington, TX, USA • Feb 13, 2024
