The guy who said his name was, John Cooper, but sounded like he was from Africa, called me back and told me to stay on the phone with him as I drove to the Walmart parking lot and told me to tell him when I got into a parking spot. So I did as he said and after I did that he told me to go into the store and buy 4 Walmart gift cards for $200/each. After I purchased them he told me to go out to my car and read all of the numbers off the back of the cards. As it was getting late he then told me that the Banks were about to close and I would have to go back to the Walmart the next day. So I woke up the next day and said good bye to my boyfriend and the manager calls me, who's name is Michael Douglas, and asked me if I was at the store now and I told him that it would take me about 30-45 minutes to get there because I was in a different town. He said that he would call me back in an hour.
I drove to the the store and waited for the guy to call me back. After about an hour and a half the guy called me back and told me to go into the store and buy 6 STEAM cards for $100/each and 4 more Walmart gift cards for $100. I purchased them and went back to the car and read all numbers on the back to him. Then he told me that I needed to get $2000 more and proceeded to tell him that the money that I just spent was not mine. I was supposed to use $1600 for a secret shopper task and that the only reason why I had that money in the first place was because I had just received 2 checks for secret shopper. I told him that there was NO MORE MONEY! He told me that he was going to talk with the financial department and see if they would allow him to loan me $1200 and I would have to come up with the $800. I told him that I would try.
He called me back about one and a half hours later and I told him that I wasn't able to get the money. But I would try to write a check for the $800 and I would run down to my bank and put money in my bank account right after I got my money from the government. But my check wouldn't go through and I let him know that I have absolutely no other way to get the money and I was starting to get really anxious and my heart started racing so I went to sit down in the restaurant in the Walmart. I let him know what was going on and I told him that I felt like I was going to have a seizure and he said that he was sure that I wasn't. I asked the person that was at the restaurant register if I could have a glass of water, then I passed out. I woke up right away but the guy on the phone insisted that I still concentrate on getting the money and I hung up on him and to this day I still receive phone calls from him but I don't answer.
I notified the police but they said that they can't do anything about it because it's probably out of the country and Walmart checked all the gift cards and the scammers missed one of the $100 gift cards, so I am out a total of $1100.
One of the secret shoppers took back their money and now my bank account is in the red by over $920! There is still one secret shopper check that is probably going to come out of my account and it is also over $950! I am on SSI and both of these checks are more than I make in a month, so I am not ever going to get my bank paid off. I'm trying to buy a new car and I have a credit card at the bank also.
