Someone impersinating on of my friends on Facebook sent me a message and said they just got a government grant for $100,000 because of some issue she had with workmans comp.  They told me to follow a link and talk with a government agent named Larry Baker.  Larry asked me fo my full name, my gender, age, address, mother's maiden name, what my current job is, and what my monthly income was. He said he would process that information and then get back to me if I qualified for the grant. I cut off contact with Larry at this point because he said I had to give him my social security number and banking information to be able to move on towards the next step of the grant process.

This lady is offering my wife a job with IRS I’m hattiesburg. She has her set up a ID ME account and I believe this to be a scam. Can you verify this

Not the typical junk mail. Official looking with perforated paper and a "voucher" inside that looks like a check. Even has our lender listed, inside and on the front, and "secure document" markings.

The outside has: This notice is time sensitive ... Information for the mortgagee only .... County Deed Records .... Immediate response to this notice requested ... Lender Info: xxxxx Voucher Enclosed ... Signature Required

The inside has the typical: Final Notice, have not contacted, please call immediately.

My wife and I moved recently. I went to change my address and googled USPS Change of Address. The website I clicked said ‘Official Change Site’. It looks like the USPS website but I realized my mistake too late when my debit card was charged 179.95. I immediately called their help line and was told it was already processed but they could refund me minus the “processing fee” of 19.95. Fortunately I was refunded 160, however, this is clearly a scam. My mail was not being forwarded so I had to go to the actual USPS a week later go through the process again.

Application completed and interview questions answered. Sent a fake contract for position and personal information including bank information, identification numbers, and addresses to this email address. There was never a phone number to reach the "hiring manager" given and my husband who has been looking for work has fallen victim to this scam.

Company called from stating they were Medicare. Asked health questions and sent package of braces. The package needed signature. When victim called back to refuse and get return label they would not answer. When they called back, they claimed she owed money.

Hello,

I am a student in Halifax, NS, CA. I was seeking job part-time job. So the listing in Indeed had attracted me to the position for Store Keeper. So, they asked me to provide my passport and my student permit. So that I know to just send some of the documents that will not affect me financially. After signing the contract they tell me to work on stuff like cryptocurrency, through my account. After I realize they are frauds. I directly said I will not be able to work with them. So they are trying to scare me by telling me that we are going to report to the FBI. So, I didn't panic and I just reported to the Emergency number and explained my situation.

I am attaching the conversation with the fraudster through email and the email. I am also attaching the contract that I signed.

Regards

they pose as a government company that they are not

They called and left a automated message stating that I was approved for a $36,000 hardship loan provided by the government..I gave them my personal information then they hung up..I called the number back and when they answered and I said my name again they laughed and hung up the phone again in my face

Just got a call from 515-218-5253 with a recorded message saying US Customs and Border Patrol has seized a package with my name on it and that I was going to be detained and arrested for having this illegal package in my name. So it then says press one to speak with an agent so of course I play along. A man with a foreign accent answers and says hello. I say hello what’s this about he says well you already know don’t you. I then say no please explain. He then asks for Victoria Schilling which is my mom and I say you have the wrong number. Then he says I know you are her the troopers will be at your house in 15 minutes then hung up. My question is is that if this is a scam , they never asked for money or a credit card so why the abrupt ending of the call.

I was contacted by an government agency claiming that since I was in good standings with the government that I would receive a grant for 9200.00. Did not have to pay it back. All I had to do was go to a western union office with 200.00 in hand and call them back.

So, I know from personal experience, even if assigned to an IRS agent, they will never email anything over. Let alone with so many spelling and grammatical errors. This is a typical phishing email that even clearly states “For your convenience, we recommend not using a prepaid card, because sending funds does not support this card”. The ending of the email is not how IRS sets up their “closings” of any correspondences either. Please, warn everyone not to fall for it who you think may be vulnerable to believe it.

So, I know from personal experience the IRS will never contact through email, in any way shape or form. Even if you are assigned to an IRS agent. This is a typical phishing email that even clearly states “For your convenience, we recommend not using a prepaid card, because sending funds does not support this card”. The ending/closing of this email is also not how IRS sets up their “closings” of any correspondences either. Please, warn everyone not to fall for it who you think may be vulnerable to believe it. When you click the email address, on my phone (iPhone) the name shows up as ‘L’, and suggested name is ‘IRS-CONFIRMATION-TAX-REFUND!!!!!!’. Just like that. Which is another red flag for everyone (besides the return email address not associated to a .gov). That is not what the email was even phishing for. It was a government grant due to COVID-19. The email heading is “RE: automatic email, This Confirmation You are Entitled to Receiveds a tax refunds from government US and will be processed IN, Mar 17, 03:58:07pm”. Word for word (spelling and all) just like that.

They said they were going to start proceedings against me and confiscate all my funds. Dial 1 to speak to someone about this.

Text message included a link stating, "Access benefits here" in regards to the stimulus checks saying that you need to request benefits by today, 12/24/2020 in order to guarantee successful payments this year. It also said "Your tax records indicate annual earnings less than $75,000"

I received a text message that said "You have not availed your December food snap benefits from government services go to abowp.me/uSPJvhkabN before they expire " I called ScamPulse.com to find out if it was a scam and I was advised not to click on it and to call the the entity they were portraying to be. So I called Department of Health & Human Services to find out if they sent me this text message and they verified that they did not send it. I did not click on the link and filed a scam report.

Received a call from someone who sounded foreign asking for me and if they could speak with me. I said no. After this , the caller said "you dont speak to the government like that" and when asking him "what?", the caller said "you dont want to talk to me like that". In not so many words I said why not. The caller then stated that "she", referring to me, had covid. I said something to the affect of yeah right, and hung up.

I was informed first by a robot voice that my account had been hacked and that if I wanted to hear more about it I should press 1. Then a human voice answered which sounded foreign , ask my name and way I was calling. I responded with my name in a garbled fashion. The listener asked my name again and when he could not understand me, he terminated the call. The call was from Texas 713-423-7837.
