Type of a scam Online Purchase
I have traveled several times to Latin America and take the goods the buyers want.
Buyers go to grabr.io make an entry on what they expect to purchase and travelers going to that place, make offers to take the goods they request. The goods vary from vitamins, electronics (speakers, watches, etc). Once the buyer accepts the offer, their money is sort of put in "escrow" until the traveler goes to that country, meet the person, mark the goods as delivered and 10 business days after the traveler is supposed to have his money back. Grabr works with the buyers money until the product is delivered, and 10 more days until they are supposed to release to the travelers.
The issue is that Grabr is failing to payback their travelers across the world. The travelers uses thier money to buy the products in faith that Grabr will pay them back in 10 business days.
They are giving all sort of excuses, systems upgrade, have to pay manually the customers, etc. The emails say we are in the queues to get paid...
This in reality sounds to me like they are operating a Ponzi Scheme and there are no more travelers because there are not as many buyers as in the first few years. Basically, the scheme implies that the new members (new buyers) of a Ponzi scheme finance payments for old members (travelers ). This continues until more new members are added, the money runs out and the operation closes, leaving many people surprised because they did not recover their money (scammed) .
