The website indicates that the bags sold by Grace's Bags are made of the finest leather in a small artisan workshop by Grace and her husband. They have made the decision to close the business after three decades and are selling off the remaining stock at a discount. In actuality, the company is based in China and the 'finest leathers' are imitation leather. They do not offer free returns so items need to be shipped back to China, with the buyer paying the shipping costs. This was a mea culpa, as I should have checked the ScamPulse.com and online reviews prior to ordering, as they have many similar complaints filed against this company.

I was served a targeted ad on instagram from a store that claimed to sell hand-made "genuine leather" bags. They said the bags were discounted because the store was closing. The offered a satisfaction guarantee on all bags and claimed that all bags could be returned for a full refund no questions asked. I ordered a bag. The bag I received was not genuine leather. I emailed the company to request and return and let them know I was mislead in thinking that the bag would be genuine leather. They emailed me back with this response:

"First of all, I'd like to clarify that our bags are made from PU leather, which is a high-quality, vegan alternative to traditional leather. It's not only stylish but also environmentally friendly, as it avoids animal cruelty and uses fewer natural resources in its production. We believe it strikes a wonderful balance of style, functionality, and sustainability.

I understand this might not have been what you were expecting, and you are welcome to return the bags. However, as mentioned in our return policy, we don't offer free returns. Since we're based internationally, return shipping can be quite costly (around $30-50 USD).

To make things easier for you, I'd like to offer an alternative: you can keep the bags, and I'll refund 15% back to your original payment method. If you accept this offer, I will process the refund within 24 hours."

I have since returned to the website and nowhere on it does it say that the bags are PU leather and the return policy does not explicitly state that a) return shipping is international and b) that it is not included. The whole site is misleading and deceptive.

I'm certain that someone has already reported Grace's Bags, but I want to add as well. This "company" has ads on social media, which is where I discovered it. Website claims that "Grace" and her husband were going out of business and selling the last of their stock of handmade leather bags. Bought 2 and then saw the tracking number was from China. They are plastic, mass manufactured bags from China that arrived in a plastic bag and already falling apart at the seams. "Customer Service" was surely some kind of AI bot that emailed me with a different name each time (Mar, Elque, Sophie) we corresponded. I eventually got a 50% refund back to my Paypal account after 3 rounds of email back and forth with "customer service", which is better than nothing, for sure. Still, this is a totally fake company claiming to sell hand crafted premium leather bags, and they are actually selling very cheaply made fake leather bags from China. I see tons of reviews now online and "buyer beware" about Grace's Bags within the last few days.

They created a website and Facebook page stating they were local and deciding to retire so they are running a sale. I have emailed them multiple times asking when they will ship and they do reply, but its vague. I asked them to cancel my order today. I found on YouTube that they have scammed a ton of people.

Grace's bags.com (https://graces-bags.com/) advertises on Facebook and on their website that she is retiring from 34 year leather craftmanship and have to sell all her inventory. The website has a very nice Caucasian lady as a picture with a warm story with her husband. I bought three "leather" bags ranging between $45 and 60. The bags I received are not leather at all. It was shipped from China, made with cheap plastic. I was able to find the same products on Temu for $5.79. Clearly, all the stories and the bags they advertise on the website were fake.
