This company is trying to charges $500 for it's Federal Student Loan Forgiveness services, they were even willing to let me take payments. During the call they'll put you on hold for 15mins "to see if the Department of Education will approve your file". They actually never contact the D.O.E. and the D.O.E. has never heard of them and warns that they are a scam. Federal student loans also say that this is a scam. Ashford University (where I want to school) is not on a watch list by the Federal Student Loan Administration. I was on the phone with them for over an hour and when the phone call was completed I had scheduled 2 payment for there administrative services and was pumped up with hope of student loan relief. The next day it hit me that it was just too good to be true and started making calls, including the BBB, only to find out this is a scam. I have called GradsAid but have not been called back. So decided to contact my bank to cancel the debit card payments. This means canceling my current debit card and getting it replaced. This for sure is a pain in the but butt, but it beats being $500.00 dollars poorer. There wed sites are very good and look very professional and appear to be part of the government. It is all smoke and mirrors.
