I looked up the website from which the email came (gourmetselectronics.com), and it doesn't exist. Then I researched about job scammers using instant messaging to conduct fake interviews. I was weary about messaging Mr. Charles T***, but I did anyway.
That Google Hangouts conversation is the following:

*Ensure all client and employee files are current and complete, interface with administrative staff to gather deficient or inaccurate documents, and notify the manager when employees do not respond to requests for needed documentation that may be assigned to you by the supervisor. Your training is going to be done online through your PC and Phone. You will be Faxed or Emailed a paper work and a HR document during your training and orientation, you are to fill, sign and send back via Email for proper documentation.

Me: Okay. I'm a little weary of this situation, as I am doing research on the company, and I am not finding information about a U.S. location.

Me: Based on my research, job scammers use instant messenger for fake interviews. Do you have a way I can confirm this, like by providing a phone number to continue the interview? I do not want to waste my time on my important job search. I left my last job on March 22, 2016. In addition, the email I received your information from is from a website that does not exist (gourmetselectronics.com). I was already weary of this before I decided to IM you.

Me: I think that was bs. I am reporting this company, all your information and this situation to the ScamPulse.com and unemployment office here. If you won't provide a phone number, then you are fake.

I feel like my information was wrongly given out to a scammer by the state unemployment agency that I am enrolled through because of my being forced to put my contact information on their job posting website (connectingcolorado.com). I want this to never happen again! - *** ***
