A woman called pretending to be my granddaughter. She said she was in jail because she was in a traffic accident and a lawyer would be calling me. A man then called me pretending to be her lawyer with an elaborate story and said I needed $10,000. for her bail money. He then lowered it to $5,000. when I said i did not have the money. He said my granddaughter did not want anyone to know she was in jail , so I was to tell no-one. She wanted to tell her husband herself. The bondsman wanted all cash because he had received several bad checks. I was to bring the money to the closest office and if there wasn't one close he would meet me somewhere and take the money to the bondsman. Then my granddaughter would be released. I called my granddaughter and she said she was never in an accident, never in the hospital and never in jail. I'm gad I checked.
