Grant advance fee Reports & Reviews (1)

A female acquaintance texted me about a government grant. She forwarded me a link to a Facebook page and said to comment on one of the posts that I was interested in learning how to receive one of the grants. Upon doing this, I received a message on Facebook messenger from a gentleman named Agent **** ** *****. He asked me to fill out some basic information which I completed. He then proceeded to ask for a copy of my driver's license and also a copy of my Social Security card; reluctantly I obliged because I thought it was for tax purposes. He then said that I needed to verify my Facebook page by giving him my password. Next, he said that we would pay a small processing fee of $375 and they would deliver the cash prize to me. I paid that fee expecting delivery within 3 hours of payment and then they came back that there was a processing issue and they needed more money. This went on for 3 days and then finally he transferred me over to a so-called FedEx personnel. They proceeded to tell me that they needed more money for security which was provided by the Air Force. Next, they said that they were going to deliver but they were stopped / halted by the FBI for inspection so there was yet another fee. After paying this fee, they proceeded to tell me that they needed another fee to deliver within 2 hours but I made an agreement with them that I would pay upon delivery. After agreeing, they then threatened that I had to pay so they could proceed with the delivery. So, after paying that fee, they threatened me with another fee because another so-called individual paid more than I did to have his prize delivered first. I didn't pay the fee expecting that they would deliver after but they never showed up. I then complained many times and then blocked them. Next, I got a message from Agent Mark himself (supposedly) stating that he was very disappointed in the so-called FedEx so he arranged to have a special delivery but I would have to pay yet another fee. I made another agreement to pay upon arrival. After making this so-called agreement with him, he threatened me over and over again that I had to pay ahead of time before they could proceed with the delivery. So, I finally gave in and once again they did not show up. Next, they proceeded to say that they needed another fee and I argued and said that I was going to report them. After going back and forth for hours, he took over my Facebook account - changed the password and changed where things were going through. I reported this to Facebook and was able to get my account back. The next day he proceeded to say that he gave me access back to Facebook. So, then he proceeded to say that he would need another fee to personally deliver the package himself. We went back and forth and he said that he is sincere, was a Christian and wanted to be happy for me to receive this so-called cash prize. I made yet another arrangement that I would pay this additional fee, once again, upon delivery. He agreed and then a few minutes went by and he asked if I had sent the email, copy of the apple gift cards. I advised him that this was not the agreement and then he again threatened me that he could not move because it was the policy of the government. I made yet another agreement to give him one of the two gift cards so that he could proceed on his way with the prize. Once, again, these were empty promises and he broke the agreement. We went back and forth and I decided to give him a copy of the last card thinking he must need this money more than I do. As you can possibly think, he never showed up with the prize. The next day, I get a text from an individual from the government management grant asking if I received my prize which should have been delivered a week earlier. They also proceeded to ask me how much I paid in fees. Minutes went by and then they came back stating that the processing fee was $2500 and I still owe $1000. I proceeded to tell them that they were really funny and weren't getting any more money for me. After stating that the government wouldn't extort money from an individual, I blocked them. The next day, Agent Mark texted me to see if I had received a message from the main office. I advised him that the first thing they said was a lie so I blocked them. He said that if I gave him $200 again, he would deliver it himself. I said no and he came back stating he just needed $150. I then said that I am not paying any more since you will not deliver and he came back saying that he needs $125 to "balance up". I asked for documentation for this "grant" and he avoided answering my question. We went back and forth many times and then he came back stating he needed the money for gas and to fix his car tire. When I replied back "scam", he came back with "I don't mind if it's $100". I offered to meet where he was going to get gas and the car fixed but he said that he needed the money beforehand. I then replied that they aren't going to charge until after they fix it but he replied that he needed the money before they would fix the car. Since I decided not to give in any more or give them additional money, the Facebook page has been taken down. One of the email addresses used was: ***************gmail.com, however it does not seem to be valid anymore. A paypal address used was: k*********@yahoo.com.
