I am searching for a new job and have posted my resume in Linkedin and Indeed. I received a call from a recruitment company saying they are in Austin and that are looking for a position with my background in Orlando. Later I get a call for a brief interview and email detailing the position, then they send a text message and email coordinating another assessment with their HR team, two days later they request telephone and emails of two professional references and after 10 days since everything started I get a confirmation of being elected with package details. The company is located in Canada and they need my address, phone so they could send me a check to cover my expenses for the new office that they are opening. It seem so fishy, a check before starting? it is ridiculous. So I started checking their website and realized it was created barely 22 days ago and they claimed to be a company with over 14 years of experience. The contact number in their website is the fax number of a support group that assists relatives of prisoners in Canada. I reviewed the IPs of the emails received and they were located in the UK and Kansas City. I read about job scams, and realized this had all the characteristics. I guess they wanted me to provide my social. Just be aware!
