What I received were subpar AI generated logo designs that didn't reflect what I had requested. I sent multiple examples of what I was looking for and continued to receive inferior quality, off-the-mark logos. They tried to charge me $250 for the website domain for 5 years. I refused and purchased the domain myself through GoDaddy for $44.53 for 3 years. Then I was told that the website hosting had to be done by Custom Design Genius for a fee, which I refused to pay.
I informed the company that I was unhappy with what I had received and requested a refund. Instead, I have received a barrage of texts from Mark Wilson who identified themself as the IP Paralegal for the company. They stated that I immediately needed to register the logo or obtain an IP closure letter. I informed this individual that I was unhappy with all of the designs and did not wish to have any of the logos legally protected because I wasn't going to use any of them.
Then I received a voicemail and the following email from the company's same IP Paralegal: "This is a final reminder regarding the logo designed for your company by Custom Design Genius. It is crucial to address the status of this logo to protect your intellectual property and avoid potential legal issues. To ensure that the logo is legally protected and recognized, you need to register it with the federal office. The registration process will involve a legal fee of $1,550. This step will secure your rights and safeguard the logo against unauthorized use. If you do not intend to use the logo and wish to formally close the intellectual property record, you must obtain an IP closure letter. The cost for this service is $1050. This process includes filing the necessary forms and ensuring that the logo is removed from official records. Please be advised that failure to either register the logo or obtain the IP closure letter could result in legal consequences. Infringement or unauthorized use of the logo may lead to a lawsuit with potential damages up to $45,000."
