Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Today a different company located in Quebec contacted us to ask why we sent his company cheque when he wasn't expecting a cheque from us.
He told us that the cheque came in the mail from "Grayton Investment", according to Grayton's website they are located 360 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0G8. But that is false because that address is the Manitoba Hydro building, and "Grayton Investment" is not listed in the building directory for 360 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0G8.
Fortunately the recipient in Quebec did not deposit the cheque and contacted us instead. The cheque is an exact copy of the original cheques except that the PAY TO is company in Quebec instead of the correct vendor we issued the cheque to in Alberta
Somehow Grayton Investment obtained our original cheque and either made a copy and put a different PAY TO on the cheque or used the same cheque and replaced it.
We are wanting this company Grayton Investment stopped so they do not attempt to steal any of our money or anyone else
