I was contacted by a woman who claimed she was a courier who was going to come to my residence between 3-5 PM and serve me some legal papers. When I asked what it was about, she "could not provide me with any information", but gave me a phone number and a reference number. She claimed it was from Wells Fargo Bank. When I called the number, Angelo Steven's said the company was an arbitration service retained by Wells Fargo. He said their "client" advised them I closed a checking account in 2008, that had an outstanding automatic draft of 456.00. That part was true. They had all my personal information. I said "I take it you are a debt collector." Angelo Steven's denied it and said they were an arbitration company. I was only given one opportunity to pay the debt, plus interest, otherwise it would proceed to court and I would be ordered to pay triple the amount. I commented that it was over 10 years old

and Angelo Steven's was very "helpful" and said. " these companies are really predatory" Because I did not want it to affect my credit. I paid the amount. When i contacted Wells Fargo they stated the account was closed and they had no active effort in collecting anything. This was just a rip-off. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to check the ScamPulse.com site first. Be forewarned. They are crooks. By the way-this is just a cell number to an apartment in NY.

The worst part of this was somewhere somehow they were able to acquire my ful SSN. And initially they were threatening some sorta legal action/serve papers etc. after I returned the call they seemed sincere and were willing to set payments. But after I asked for information to verify the information regarding debt they became agitated.
