We brought our sick cat into their emergency center at about 11:00 PM Sunday, September 22, 2024. Our reason for going to this place was because they were the closest emergency vet clinic. Just to be seen by a vet, the cost was $176.00. Ok, fine, it's Sunday, and late at night. They looked at our cat for approximately one minute, and decided she needed blood work done, fluids (IV solution), and an anti nausea pill. The cost of these services was nearly $1700.00. They immediately went into a sales pitch for their credit card, which is the only credit card they accept. When we couldn't afford the cost, the refused to even write a prescription for an anti nausea medicine or anything, at all. When we initially tried to apply for the credit card (because we were desperate to save our cat) I was going to apply for the cost of the service they mentioned, about $2000.00. However, the vet herself told us to to go for $5000.00, I know now, because they intended to charge us as much as possible. They never cared about saving our cat, or our distress, they cared about getting paid. We refused any further "services" there. When we took the cat to a qualified vet, they knew immediately that the cat was in renal failure, and that she didn't have long to live. On the qualified vet's recommendation we, decided to have our cat euthanized, to avoid any further discomfort or pain. Green Acres was willing to put the cat through any and every test they could make money off of. They should not be allowed to use people's love for their animals, nor their desperation to save their animal's life to make a profit. What they do is monstrous, and despicable, and frankly, evil. We did not know of Green Acres reputation before our visit, because it was an emergency. If we had any idea of how horrible they had treated past patients, we would have never gone to this pit of despair. There are dozens of horror stories all over the Internet about them doing anything to get the maximum amount of money from patients. When proof of any service rendered is asked for, a subpoena is needed. These are not the actions of a reputable business. They are not vets, they are scammers. They have no humanity. I don't even care whether or not I get my money back, they need to be stopped. They need to be shut down. How you can look at a dying animal, and a desperate family, and see dollar signs, I will never understand. Monsters.
