pitched by text and then sent packet including cashier's check for $2400 and detailed instructions via priority mail. Very explicit in what the money was to be used for and how we were to conduct "mystery shopping" and not to do so. Specific about our fee within this and how any remainder would be applied to next "assignment." Instructed to spend a few dollars on personal groceries and most of it on high-dollar *($500) gift cards, ( to be set aside until further instructions re: delivery are provided). My guess is the check bounces and we are out a couple of thousand dollars which go into the perpetrators' pocket via the gift cards. Stamped the "check" BS and sent it back via cheapo mail

packet comes from Adolph Kendall 811 SE Stark St Portland OR 97214-1241 and an email of [email protected] is included in the "instructions,". which also list Adolph as Field Operations Manager at 908-987-3208. the Online search found an Adolphus Kendall in Detroit who was born in 1901 and died in 1968. Search for email or phone both led nowhere in terms of who or where they are associated with

Supposed secret shopper job

Originally found this “company” online while job hunting. Received a letter and a check for $2,390.73. The letter instructs to go out and purchase a total of 4 x $500 Amex gift cards, scratch the pin and email a photo of all of the cards to the provided email.
What’s very unfortunate about this and upsetting is that there are folks who could desperately be in need of a job, fall for this scam and be out thousands of dollars after the check bounces. Such a shame these scums are out there.
