I received a text message from Grupo Salinas that I had an interview. First of all, if I had an interview I would have made a note in my calendar and second 'William' said I would have a 40 minute 'text' interview! Really, first flag. Then I check my email and Grupo Salinas sent a GROUP message sharing my email with other people I did not know / second flag. 40 minutes of my time is valuable. Do your research about the position and the company before wasting your time. Times are tough...don't fall for these scams!

A total scam. From the beginning I called the person back and it was a text call number. The interview was on Whatsapp, which is weird. When I asked if we can zoom or speak on the phone, “Andy” just replied “Sure”
These monsters prey on innocent people who are in need and it’s vile. Be careful.

I too was contacted by Susan Thomas who "found" my resume on Indeed. When i asked for a job description, she asked how I could interview--also texting through Whatsapp. She then gave me Andy C. Erickson's contact information. I contacted Andy and he send me a job description that he copied and pasted from another company, after I searched for it. I mentioned this to him and he said "I don't think so." I reviewed the company's site and it looks like it is very corrupt. I then mentioned to him that and he pretended not to know what I was talking about, until I sent him a link to a Wall Street Journal article about it.

Thankfully in the middle of our exchange, I found this post. Do not give them personal information.

Thank you so much for posting this! I wish I'd looked into it more before contacting him. As far as personal information, he only knows my name and email but that's still not good. Do you know of any way to report him? I have blocked him and reported him on WhatsApp and reported him as a scammer on this site. I absolutely despise scammers! I also found it strange that he only used what's app and when I asked why he didn't respond. I went through with the interview because he seemed legit but his grammar is awful and some of the messages were just plain weird. The fact that he responded around 5am made me question everything. Sure, it's a legit company and he's a real person, but he is absolutely in no way affiliated with the company. I agree some messages seemed automated. I was contacted by Susan as well and it said she found my resume posted on blank. Like there was a literal blank which I ignored because sometimes my messages get messed up. Anyway, sorry but the long reply but thank you so much for protecting people from scams!

This was very strange from the beginning. The individual who reached out to me about the interview went by the name Susan Thomas who was a recruiter that found my resume via indeed and the position was $35hr for a company called Grupo Salinas, I did some research and it seems to be a firm based in Mexico, the whole site was in Spanish which makes me question why they would even consider hiring someone who doesn't speak the language. This person told me my interview would be through Whatsapp just texting which is very odd. The person who I was in contact with went by the name Andy C. Erickson, at first it seemed like a legit interview- asking about my qualifications for the position, scenario questions etc. I even got a "welcome packet'' email which was flagged by google as it wasn't authentic (another reg flag even google sensed it was sketchy) and the way the texts were written seemed robotic and mentioned he'd be sending me a check to "purchase" the necessary materials and it had to only be through a specific vendor, saying I'd be receiving a free laptop for my work with the checks, claiming the reason for the digital checks was to ensure that there is trust between employer and employee I called his bluff by asking to speak on the phone but they kept making excuses I knew it was a scam so I blocked them immediately It's a shame people still do this! DO NOT give them any personal information!! I will be including photos as well.
