I was searching for a hotel room and believed I was on the hotel site in their reservations. The price quoted matched Expedia so I elected to book with the hotel directly. After confirming, I realized that $206 was added in "Tax recovery charge and Service fees". I then went to Expedia and completed a booking that added on only $45 in taxes. Realizing the additional $161 was a ridiculous amount for fees, I called their customer service. The hotel explained it was not them adding the fees, but a booking site. I called the site which claimed

"This is a special rate and may not be available later if you decide to re-book.

Need to make a change? We can help!

Let us re-book your reservation by calling 800-468-3578 and selecting option "1".

Find a better rate someplace else?

We offer a Best Hotel Rate Guarantee. See Details or call 800-468-3578 and select option "1"."

When I selected SEE DETAILS it took me to another site "getaroom.com" and has an advertisement telling me to goto Priceline for my next reservation. The same phone number was there in tiny print for "help with a reservation."

I called for support and the best they would offer was 10% off. The reservation was nonrefundable so what choice did I have. They have charged me for the room but I see no lousy 10% refund pending on my credit card. I realize I was duped! I feel stupid and angry that I did not recognize that the site was impersonating the hotel.

I booked a hotel room online on what I thought was the legit website for the hotel. Booked a room for 2 nights. It gave me a price of approximately 500 dollars (correct for the rates shown) but when I clicked to pay and the payment was processed, they tacked on a 240 dollar fee for “taxes and services” that was most certainly NOT mentioned anywhere before I finalized the payment. The hotel room was booked for me legitimately but the spoofing of their website to look like the official site and not mentioning the RIDICULOUS fee involved is disingenuous bordering on criminal.

Dear Manager:

I tried reaching you by telephone on three separate occasions and you were out of the office, so I thought I would type

up a letter and fax it to you as I could not find an email on your website to send it to.

This will be kind of lengthy and I hope you will read through it, understand my dilemma and assist me. Back on or about

August 19th, I was searching for hotels in the Duluth area for the nights of 11/21 and 11/22. I came upon your hotel and

it came up with 1 king bed suite $221, Book now, Free cancellation before 12:00am, November 19, 2023, Today’s low

rate, pay now and save so I clicked on the book now button as I was thinking it was $221 for both nights. You can

imagine my dismay, when the total popped up at $603.31. I immediately, within a minute, canceled this reservation.

The reservation was made through guestreservations.com, which I did not choose, it just populated when I was looking

for Duluth hotels.

I cannot believe that you contract through this deceptive company. When on the very first page it states Free

cancellation before 12:00am, November 19, 2023, but that is not the truth. This is totally unacceptable, and it’s pretty

sad when you have Guest Reservations.com, Hotel Values.com and Getaroom.com which are all intertwined/connected

to one another.

Apparently within the “terms and conditions”, which only 1% of the population reads, it states that each room in this

reservation is subject to the following cancelation policy: This booking is subject to a $425.84 USD change or

cancellation fee.

What the hell happened to the FREE CANCELLATION BEFORE 12:00AM, NOVEMBER 19, 2023?

So now I am out $425.84. This is absolute bull crap and I am sending all of my documentation to the Attorney Generals

office and the BBB. Of course this will fall mostly upon guestreservations.com.

I was hoping you/your hotel would make it right and honor me a no charge two night stay some time over the next year.

I have tried unsuccessfully to get Guestreservations.com to reimburse this money back to me and also opened an

investigation up with my bank and was unsuccessful there too.

I do not want to give your hotel a bad review for the fact that you contract with these companies that have deceptive

practices, but I will if I cannot get some sort of resolution. I’ve already place a bad review with guestreservations.com

Please respond back to me:

I did a google search for the hotel I wanted to stay with. I stupidly clicked on the first link and the company that came up was the "Reservation Desk."  I had a two year old on my lap so it was difficult to see everything. Once I booked the hotel, the price went from $179 to $262. It was a complete scam. If I had booked on the hotel website that I wanted it would have cost $186. Google is in on this and probably owns the company. These people are criminals and pure evil. Their website has no contact info except for a phone number, 855-470-1527. When you call that you get people from outside the country who tell you the company is located in Dallas, TX but won't give you an address. They say they "can't tell you" and keep trying to give a hotel pricing spiel. SCAM!

Site had a site that looked just like the hotel’s web page ,hotel kitsmiller, in Fredericksburg TX. We stayed at this hotel many times and made the reservations from their site. When the reservation was made there was an extra $40 fee. That is when I noticed that it was not the real site belonging to the hotel. I called within 5 minutes and was told that nothin they could do, non refundable. This is the site of the scammers: https://www.guestreservations.com/hotel-kitsmiller-on-main/booking?gclid=EAIaIQo... />
It’s a scam to get $40.00.

- Castaic, CA, USA

It was the first hit on Google and said ‘sponsored’ so assumed it was the Hampton Inn website. The pictures were of the hotel. I booked and then noticed after I’d hit paid there were significant extra charges. I did not receive a confirmation number and the hotel did not have my reservations. The number on the website directs you to the hotel for questions and then hangs up. I then tried to speak to a person by choosing the option for new booking. The rep said they ‘saw’ I was interested in a specific property, I could not understand the name. She could not help with the Hampton reservation. I called my CC company and cancelled my card and will dispute the charges. You cannot leave a review on the website or FB as far as I could determine.
