My netgear Wi-Fi extender was not working. So I googled netgear I called the number that came up after Google it. The gentleman help me connect my extender then he asked if there was anything else wrong I said yes I needed help connecting my Computer to the printer so it would print so he did that. He said he will call me back after it was done. Then he proceeded to do a lot of other stuff on my computer he had control of my computer. I was watching my computer and it was going crazy. So he called me back and I he said he put his antivirus protection on my computer cause I have none I said no I have Norton he said there’s nothing on your computer he said with the work I’ve done it will be $199.99. At the time I’ve been on the phone for about three hours and I was frustrated so I said OK. That was on Friday, April 12, 2019. All over the weekend I was furious with myself and called him back Monday and told him to remove all that he put on then he said if I remove it I can’t tell you what else I’m going to remove. I said remove only what you installed the antivirus you going to remove the extender and the computer information but nothing else he said I can’t promise you that I said never mind I’ll call you back. I called Norton because I thought they were my antivirus company because I was paying for them but they weren’t on my computer they couldn’t help me until the other antivirus was removed. So I called Joseph back told him I want to remove it and again he said I can’t guarantee anything I said you better not remove anything you didn’t put on so he removed it didn’t take him 15 minutes to remove it but 3 1/2 hours to put it back on. So I called Norton back and told him my story so he told me to go and put Nortons help and I tried but it said I had no Internet Norton said he couldn’t help me I had to call my carrier to get my Internet back on it took 3 1/2 hours they couldn’t figure out how to get it back on I don’t know what he did to my computer so what they ended up doing is resetting back to the day before I called him to restore everything. I feel like I was scammed he control my computer for way too long and I’m still waiting for my refund. I was stupid I should’ve told him on Friday to remove it I didn’t authorize it but who knows what he wanted none when he removed it. So I just want to report Handon Cursor he said he was a third-party working with netguard. I should’ve just hung up then.
