A google ad popped up for Newfoundland dogs, under the name of "HappyFamilyNewfies" and they were selling full breed newfoundland dogs. We contacted their email to express interest in the dogs that were being sold. We put a down payment of $500 for a young Newfoundland dog. The seller notified us that they were going to transport the dog by flying it to our address. We gave them our address, signed "ownership" of the dog and agreed to be home to receive the dog. Once the owner had everything checked in, they let us know that the Crate/Carrier for the dog is going to being inspected before shipping. We were then contacted by "Delta Courier Airlines" at [email protected]. From that email we were notified that the Carrier provided was not adequate for shipping. "delta pet safe" told us we needed to purchase a pet insurance policy for the dog and rent a carrier for the flight, which in total would have been $2520.00, at this point we were considered the owners of the dog and if we did not pay for the insurance or new carrier, they threatened to sue us for animal negligence. When asked what method would be used to pay for these, they gave us an email to pay through google pay (Kenisha Scott was the name of the Gmail) to pay for the items they had requested. We contacted Delta airlines and asked them about the emails, and found that they did not own that email or have an insurance program. We have looked for the website once again and have not been able to find it. The emails are still there, but it does contain some personal information such as our names and address.
