We have been searching for a Jack Russell puppy and came across the seller's website. We contacted the email listed and have been emailing back and forth with someone for two days, who initially didn't identify him/herself within the email. We received lots of information on the "puppy", including which vaccinations it already had, and info on how we would collect the dog. The total cost was to be $850 via Apple Pay or Zelle. After I replied that I'd like to see vet records, references from past adopters, and the seller's phone number (so we could ask more questions over the phone), the seller responded with an email that seemed a bit offended and stating that he wasn't a scammer and that his family had been breeding since 2008. I never received any vet records or references, but the seller did send me his name, address, and phone number. I also noted that the way in which the emails were worded seemed different each time. And the tone never matched what was written on the website. The grammar/English was sometimes off, and sometimes the wording looked copied and pasted. I immediately did a reverse phone number lookup, and I found that another company called "Cavalier King Charles Pup" was listed by the ScamPulse.com as a pet scam company. The address and phone number were identical to the one the seller provided me, only the first and last name were different. Also, I just realized as I was filling out this form, that the website address has an added "e" in the domain name after the word "jack". So it's odd that a serious breeder or business person would make this mistake for his/her business.
