I was then sent a tracking number to a pet shipping site - happypetstransport.com - which is another part of this scheme. They asked for additional money in the same amount I paid for the kitten in order to guarantee the kitten's "safe transport." It was then that I felt sick to my stomach in realizing this was a scam! The financial and emotional toll this has taken on me and my family is awful!
My husband called the phone number for "Happy Pets Transport" and surprisingly a person answered. No doubt, it's the SAME person (Smith Genthrie) who we paid for the kitten in the first place. He said if it the fee wasn't paid, which would of course, be fully refunded once we received the kitten, they would take the kitten to a shelter. REALLY?! My husband asked why they wouldn't just return the kitten to the breeder. He had no good answers and also didn't have a PHONE number for the breeder.
I'm really just so mad at myself for being fooled by this person. It's really sad that people take advantage of others in this way. I hope the bank makes this right and these people involved in the scheme(s) get caught.

Over the last few days, I have placed multiple calls to Happy Pets Transport (area code for California, although located in Maine?) and receive only a voicemail - - I have not received any return calls. After much back and forth from my bank, all agreed upon payments have been completed to Mcklin Paul who states, "in case anything happens to your money you can hold me responsible" - - I am now taking the following steps to do so.
It was the unprofessional and questionable event that occurred yesterday, 10 minutes before the expected delivery of the kittens that was the final straw. Both my roommate and I placed several additional calls to Happy Pets Transport and have to date received no return calls. An email was also sent to Happy Pets Transport requesting a call back and to date, have not received a response. After being willing to drive to pick up the kittens and being provided a location for pick up in New York, the tracking location placed the kittens in Pittsburg, PA (6 hours away). I will not be driving to New York City to pick up kittens that I frankly do not believe are real at this point in time. I have been scammed out of thousands of dollars and request now, for a second time that all funds be returned in full to me, Rebecca Hanson, as I am as I am no longer interested in continuing business with either Mcklin Paul (Balinese Farm) or Happy Pets Transport.
After further research into Happy Pets Transport, several items have been called into question:
1. The address provided in email differs from the address on the website
2.The address provided for Happy Pets Transport appears to be for a clothing retail store called, "FatFace", not the expected company name "Happy Pets Transport
3.The area code for the phone number provided by Happy Pets Transport is for California, not Maine, although the address is for Maine
4. The bank for where I was expected to blindly wire money is located in Georgia, not Maine or even California
5. A simple Google search of Happy Pets Transport places this company in Romania, which coincides with my banks story that the location was picked up somewhere in Romania (which is why I was unable to wire fund to Happy Pets Transport)
6. Having called Happy Pets Trasport nearly a dozen times, I have not once talked to an employee or staff member as the phone goes to voicemail (to which my phone calls are not returned)
7. The first 2 emails I received from Happy Pets Transport were signed, "MR. Jackson Payne, Manager" and the 3rd email was signed, "MR. BEN PAYNE, CEO" - - to which I have been unsuccessful in locating online as I do not feel confident exist.
All of that being said - -
This is a notice that, if all payments are not refunded to me, ******* ******, in full back to my account on CashApp, I will be pursuing this issue further and reporting both recipients (Happy Pets Transport and Mcklin Paul) to the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, my State Attorney General (as well as Vermont, Maine and California), Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network as well as my local police department.
Thank you in advance for your urgency in resolving this matter,
******* ******

I was sent a tracking number to a pet shipping site - happypetstransport.com - which is another part of this scheme.
After seeing that there was not any tracking updates, I started to become more suspicious and while researching online I started seeing people talking about this same type of scheme. I have since received an email from the fake shipping company demanding an additional $1,495 for "insurance" to be sent to them via Zelle. That email came from [email protected]. I called the phone number on the email and a man answered saying that he worked for the company and that once I paid via Zelle and showed proof of payment they would deliver the kitten and refund me the insurance in cash. When I said that I thought that this was a scam and hung up he did not return the call.
