I responded to an email request for a survey from Harbor Freight, a hardware store. I was told I would be rewarded with a toolset of Stanley tools. I completed the survey and then was told I would receive the toolset and only have to pay shipping of $6.99. There were 100% guaranteed certificates and others of customer satisfaction. I used my credit card to enter the shipping charge, and then immediately was given another ad for an "upsell" of a keto exercise support product, which I declined by clicking the "No I do not want this" link at the bottom of the ad page. Then I was given a page with the order confirmation of the toolset, and didn't see or realize that I had been charged for the Keto thing as well until I got an email giving me confirmation of that purchase as well! I responded to this email with a "NO DO NOT CHARGE, and REFUND ME IMMEDIATELY, I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THIS PURCHASE" in the email, and only gave the order number that they had given me. I called the credit card company, and indeed I had been charged, but it was still a pending charge so I have to wait a couple days and then go through the reporting it as un-authorized charge and potentially getting a new card. These guys are criminal! There was no phone number in their confirmation email and I only got one here at BBB. Thank you for all you do!

Your Name Came Up For a Pittsburgh Mechanic Tool Set Reward

I received an email from Harbor-Freight, offering a free Stanley Tool Set for joining their loyalty program. After answering questions about Harbor-Freight on the linked website, I provided my card details for a $7 shipping fee and got a confirmation email with Customer Service: (866)-877-1603. A month later, with no tool set received, I called the number. The representative informed me that the $7 was an entry fee for a sweepstakes, mentioning at a recurring $60-$70 monthly charge. I told her it was a scam and threatened to report to the Better Business Bureau. She offered a postage refund, which I accepted but vowed to expose the scam.

I received an email stating that I had won a pressure washer valued over $600 and all I had to do was pay shipping in the amount of $8.95. So I entered my card number. It was then that I realized it was a scam. I went back and had to start all over again to get to the part of the email that gave the terms and conditions. When I read the terms and conditions, it said that I was agreeing to being charged $122.95 in 5 days and every 30 days after that for some sort of E-Book. It also said I could cancel. But no way of telling how to cancel or anything. So I went to the contact info and it had a phone number of 844-475-6238. The person I talked to could not find anything about my "order" or myself. When I asked to speak to a manager, he said there was no one available. This is a total scam. My bank fraud alert people called and I had to cancel my bank card and of course this is the weekend so on Monday I will go in and get a new card. I'll spend the next few days calling all the "auto-pays" on my bank account to give them my new bank card number. It is like the old saying goes........"if it seems too good to be true, it probably is".

Too good to be true, tool boxes hundreds of dollars cheaper! Tried it on paypay. Never received. Paypal credited me back as I opened a case with them, within 5 minutes. Paypal must recognize it.

I was sent a link by a friend to check out the flash sale harbor freight was having. I clicked on the link to the site above which looked exactly like Harborfreight.com I input my debit card info to purchase a toolbox for a very good price. After the purchase,I realized I didn't get a confirmation email,so I went to Harborfreight.com and realized that they didn't have a certain banner across their page, then realized that the other site was a fake site. I was charged 98.98 to my bank under a different merchant name called FORWARDSEEK.com, which is a fake site selling clothing, and a site I had never been on and never made a purchase with. Forwardseek.com address is 3838 CY Ave, Casper, WY 82604 Phone number +1 310-879-8105 Pl

Received an email thanking me for my recent purchase, and attached a receipt. The store number was correct for the town I live in, but the transaction number they gave me in the email was invalid when I researched on the Harbor Tool website. I have not shopped at Harbor for over 3 years, so I know this is an invalid email notice. I did not open the attachment to see what I "bought".
